Terms of Service

The Site is free to use

Every calculator and guide is free, requires no account, and may be used for personal, educational and non-commercial reference. You do not need permission to cite a result in your own notes, a community garden presentation or a classroom. What you may not do is re-package the Site itself — see "Content ownership".

Content ownership

The Site's text, structure, tools and brand (including the name "Chlorova" and its logo) are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may share links to our pages freely and quote short extracts with attribution. You may not scrape the Site at scale, mirror substantial parts of it on another website, remove or blur attributions, or use the Site's content to train or populate a competing tool collection without written permission.

Acceptable use

• No attempting to break, over-load or reverse-engineer the Site's services, or to interfere with other users' access.
• No uploading or transmitting malicious code, and no impersonation of the Site or its team.
• No using the Site's name or logo to suggest endorsement of your own products or services.

User submissions

If you send us ideas, corrections, photos or newsletter replies, you keep ownership of what you send, and you grant us a non-exclusive licence to use it on the Site (for example, publishing an accepted correction with your first name and region). Please don't send anything you don't have the rights to share.

Third-party links and storefronts

Some links on the Site — including Amazon product links — earn us a commission at no extra cost to you, as explained in our Affiliate Disclosure. Once you click through, the third party's own terms and privacy policy apply. We do not control third-party prices, availability or fulfilment, and a purchase from a linked storefront is between you and that merchant.

No warranty; use-your-own-judgement

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Gardening involves living systems and variable conditions; two identical calculations can still produce different results in two different gardens. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Chlorova and its contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from use of the Site — including lost crops, lost sales or garden decisions based on our content. Our tools are aids, not guarantees. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places we limit liability to the greatest extent allowed.

Changes to the Site and these Terms

We may update tools, content and these Terms. Material changes to the Terms will be announced on this page by changing the "Last updated" date — please check back. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law and severance

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Site operator is established, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, and nothing here removes mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in. If any clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of the Terms continue in full effect.
